Review: French Twist by Glynis Astie

SUMMARY
Sydney Bennett had spent her life in pursuit of perfection. She planned, weighed her options and made careful choices based on calculated outcomes. Through all of her efforts, she had come pretty close to perfection, if she didn’t say so herself. She had fled the cold winters in New York for sunny California, found a job that she loved and lived in the same town as her sister, and best friend, Kate. The one area of perfection that had always eluded her was her love life. No matter how hard she tried, she always ended up with a broken heart. After a particularly traumatic breakup, Sydney vowed that she was done with love.

Just as Sydney threw herself into her new plan to forget about men, a handsome Frenchman tossed all of her intentions out the window as he swept her off of her feet. Louis Durand had lived a life filled with excitement and adventure. He was impetuous, intelligent and incredibly charming. So naturally, he scared Sydney half to death. From the moment they met, Louis and Sydney’s romance progressed at warp speed. Sydney did her best not to run, but her deep rooted relationship anxiety threatened to provide an easy exit. When Louis mentioned marriage before Sydney even knew his favorite color, she was more than tempted to reach for her running shoes. Will she be able to put her fears aside to follow her heart? The one thing that Sydney will learn is that sometimes perfection comes with a twist...

MY REVIEW
I can't believe that it took me so long to start this series!  My apologies Glynis, I didn't know what I was missing.  :)
Let me begin by saying that Sydney and I are more a like that I care to admit.  From the trust issues with men, to horrible dating stories and major panic attacks!  I am right there with ya Sydney!
She has the life that many of us could dream about.  The ability to move across county, found an amazing job and...Ok so she doesn't have everything...her love life is in shambles.
From one bad break up to the next she can't catch a break...will she ever trust again?

Then one night Sydney goes out for a night on the town and she meets a gorgeous Frenchman.  Louis couldn't be more perfect if he tries...he's got the look, the style, and that drop dead gorgeous voice...And he wants Sydney!  There is an instant connection from the very beginning.  Sydney keeps waiting for the other shoe to drop.  There has to be a problem with Louis and Sydney is sure that it will show its ugly head sooner rather than later.

Their relationship proceeds at the speed of light...talks of moving in and the m word are dropped...What is Sydney to do?  Does she let down her guards and go with it?  Does she push away this seemingly perfect man because there HAS to be a flaw?  Grab a bottle of wine and sit back and finds out Sydney and Louis, can their relationship survive all the craziness ahead?

MY DRINK CHOICE
Grab you book and sit back and relax with a bottle of Grand Cuvee (yes there is gold floating in the bottle) and enjoy this wild and crazy adventure that is Sydney and Louis!
MY RATING
This fun, romantic has so many twists and turns and ups and downs, I have no choice but to give it 5 wine glasses!  I loved it from beginning to end!  I can't wait to read book 2 and book 3 soon!
