Blogiversary Interview: Rebecca Raisin, author of The Little Antique Shop Under the Eiffel Tower

I am so happy to have one of my favorite authors, Rebecca Raisin, joining us on my Blogiversary today!  She and I have been friends from the very beginning and time sure has flown by!

To begin, Rebecca you know that I am a fan of all of your books!  Can you tell me if you have another in the works?  What is it about?

Thank you so much! At the moment I'm putting the finishing touches on The Little Antique Shop Under the Eiffel Tower, which is part of The Little Paris Collection. After that I start work on a new series, but at the moment it's still in the planning stages! It'll be the first lot of books that have no ties to any other so I'm really excited! As soon as I can tell you more, I'll be back!
----So exciting!  I can't wait to hear more!

I always see you traveling here and there, do you have any exciting trips planned?

I've got a bit of wanderlust in my veins, it's true! We are hoping to head overseas next year for an extended length of time. At the moment, nothing has been finalised, and it might not happen for various reasons, but...our dream is to live abroad for a year, and home-school the boys, and I can write on the road so to speak! There's so much planning involved that some days I think it would be easier to forget the whole idea, and then other times I think of how short life is, and want to do one great thing that we'll always remember. So fingers crossed that I see you at some point!
----That sounds AMAZING!!

When you aren't busy writing away, what do you like to do in your spare time?

I love to read! I stay up far too late every night with a book in hand and always regret it the next day when I'm tired. I also like to cook for our family, but I'm hopeless with desserts! I stick to the main course and let the other family members do the sweets. In the future when I 'catch up' on everything I'd like to properly study another language. I've been teaching myself Indonesian with an app, but would also really love to learn how to speak French.

Now, if you could pick any of your books to be made into a movie, which would you choose?

I'd really love to see Secrets at Maple Syrup Farm made into a movie! That was my hardest book so far to write, but the extra work was worth it in the end ( I hope!) I like the various layers in the story and how they tie up at the end. I have a real soft spot for Clay's uncle, and his journals. And also Lucy's happy-go-lucky mom.

I'm not sure I could resist seeing CeeCee from the Gingerbread Series books on screen though too! It's a touch choice!

Lastly, I have always been curious, do you write full-time or do you have a day job as well?
When I started out I worked part time, but now I focus solely on writing full time. I've been lucky enough to be able to do that, but still there's never enough hours in a day... :) Some days I'm in a writing bubble and nothing else gets done, and other days, I'm at my desk doing everything other than writing. When the words are a struggle I take my puppy out for a big walk, or I clean the bathroom, and then I'm usually pretty happy to get back the story!

Thank you so much for having me here today!
