Blogiversary Interview and Giveaway with Melissa Amster, Blogger at Chick Lit Central

I am beyond excited to have my dear friend Melissa, from Chick Lit Central, joining me here today at One Book At A Time!

Let me begin by saying I am over the moon about celebrating my 1 year Blogiversary, how long have you had your own blog?  What made you want to start it?

I’ve had it for six years as of May. I wanted a way to connect with other fans of chick lit and was inspired by SE Reviews and Reads (formerly Manic Mommy) and Liz and Lisa (formerly Chick Lit is Not Dead) to start a blog.

I know this may be a silly question (LOL), but what is your all-time favorite genre?  What is your favorite book of 2016 thus far?

Chick Lit, of course. I’ve read so many amazing books already this year. I loved Novelista Girl by Meredith Schorr, which is a follow up to Blogger Girl. Also Sparing the Heart by Tracy Krimmer, A Girl’s Guide to Moving On by Debbie Macomber (I recently got Last One Home, which is part of the same series), The Year We Turned Forty by Liz and Lisa, The Flood Girls by Richard Fifield, etc. (I could be here all day…) My favorites list is still a work in progress.
-----What an amazing list!

After blogging for years, what has been your favorite part of the entire process?

Meeting so many wonderful authors and readers. Especially getting to connect with the authors on a level above “I like your books.” Hearing Jennifer Weiner call me by name at a reading was a highlight. Also getting mentioned in the acknowledgements of books.
----This is beginning to happen to me, it's such a thrill!

Do you see yourself as a quick reader?  I tend to read 3 -4 books a month, how about you?

It depends on the book and how much time I have. I’ve been so busy lately that I only get a scant amount of time in a day to read. I do a majority over the weekend, but even then I get interrupted a lot. I’d say about 3-4 books a month, but maybe more since I multitask with print and Kindle, reading two at a time.

Lastly, with as busy as your life can get as you stated above, hen you aren't reading and blogging, what do you like to do for fun?
Hang out with my family and friends, watch my favorite shows, listen to and sing show tunes. (My son and I are obsessed with Hamilton and sing the songs together)

Melissa it has been amazing chat with you today!  I love learning new things from my dear friends and I look up to you and what you have created at Chick Lit Central and I visit at least once a week!
